as a volunteer on the marketing committee at Seneca Park Zoo here in Rochester, this is super exciting news! if Aurora is pregnant, this will be the first artificial insemination of a polar bear - ever! let’s cross our fingers that a baby polar bear arrives in Rochester soon!

pump the breaks. Starbucks has a secret menu?!? THIS IS EARTH SHATTERING! i understand that the point of a secret menu is that only some people know about it and it makes people feel all VIP and everything, but c’mon. these drinks sound delish and should be shared with the world! i can tell you right now that the next time i walk into a Starbucks, i’m going to order a super secret drink concoction purely so someone can say “um, that’s not on the menu!” and i can quickly whip out a copy of the secret menu for proof.

We started our week of right with a little volunteering action here in Rochester - at the Ronald McDonald House! The office split into two teams - one cooking a gourmet grilled cheese and tomato soup dinner on Tuesday night and the other cooking a hearty pancake breakfast on Wednesday morning. Check out the Texties in action above! Hey, if our PR careers don’t work out for us, I think it’s safe to say we would all be welcome into any local diner as a line cook :)

many would think that the monday after losing an hour of sleep would be a tough one - but not in ROC. this morning we were greeted with a visit from one of our favorite Texties in training - AJ! within minutes he was waving to everyone, saying hello and got SUPER excited once he realized our office gave him a full view of train tracks and a waterfall. we also quickly found out that AJ enjoys referring to himself in the third person - which is hands down one of the cutest things ever when it’s coming from the mouth of an almost 2 year old. check out our fave AJ quotes from this morning and few pics from his visit!

“AJ wanna go siiiiiiiiming!!” - as he gazes out the window at the churning, muddy waters of Highfalls

The next Textie to be featured in this series is Elizabeth Cronin - a senior account executive here at Text 100. Check out her interview below to learn a little bit more about Elizabeth.

1. If you had to design a postage stamp, what would you put on it?

Probably a beach scene because that’s where I would like to be at all times.

2. If you had your own factory, what would it make?

I would probably make all sorts of blankets because I’m always cold. I have them all over the house. They would be made out of all different things. I really like the Sherpa blankets – they’re soft and smooth on one side and fluffy on the other.

3. If you were a type of food, what type of food would you be?

Cheesecake. It’s delicious! It’s difficult for people to make it themselves, so when people eat it, they feel like they are splurging.

4. If you could date any musician, who would you choose and why?

Right now I’m obsessed with Adam Levine. (Click link to listen to Elizabeth’s favorite Maroon 5 song, “Sunday Morning.”)

5. If you had to smell like one thing for the rest of your life, what scent would you pick?

Vanilla. The perfumes and body sprays I pick are usually vanilla-based. I like flowery scents too, but not if they’re overpowering. Vanilla is pretty and soft.

6. What would your reaction be if you were told you had to marry the first person you had a crush on?

I haven’t seen or heard of my first crush since 8^th grade, so I don’t know anything about him. My first reaction would be to ask what kind of person he is now and what is he doing.

7. If you could have any kind of animal for a pet, what would it be?

I’d stick to a good ol’ house cat. I’m a total cat person and don’t think I could ever live without one. It probably would be cool to have an exotic animal, but I’m not sure it would be worth the trouble.

8. If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?

I’d be able to fly or snap my fingers so I could instantly appear wherever. I like to travel, but I hate the physical act of traveling, like having to ride in a car or plane. I’m not scared to fly, but it’s such a pain.

9. If you won $20 million in the lottery, what would you do with the money?

First I would talk to a financial advisor to figure out how to make the money last. I don’t want to end up like those people on TV who blow through all the money in five years. Then I would do the logical stuff like set my family up with a house, cars and college funds; go on vacations and donate.

10. If people were thrown in jail for bad habits, what would you be thrown in jail for?

I’m a leg-shaker. I can’t stop it. Sometimes I’ll be sitting at my desk and I’ll hear this squeaking and I don’t even realize that it’s me making the noise.

11. If you could build your own robot, what would it do?

I’d make it go grocery shopping. That’s something I don’t like to do.

12. If Hollywood made a movie about your life, whom would you like to see play the lead role as you?

Scarlett Johansson. She doesn’t look anything like me, but I think she’s absolutely beautiful! I like her personally and as an actress. She’s pretty classy. You never see her doing trashy things. And I like all her movies.

Today was the day that all of our lives changed forever here in the Rochester office. Monday, Feb. 20 will forever be known as the day that we got new chairs. Who knew the sound of 20 chairs being wheeled off an elevator could sounds so magical?! Check out the picture above of Sara clearly beaming with joy over the new office seating!
